German scientists had been working on rocketry for all manner of purposes in the years leading up to the war. When the Germans crashed over the border into Russia in 1942 they had a secret weapon, with the cover name of Nebelwerfer or "Fog thrower". This was a multi-barreled, electrically-fired rocket launcher that sent its payload of heavy rockets thousands of yards out to engulf enemy positions...
With a fearsome flash of flame and the howling of a banshee wail they caused terror when used in large numbers; bringing down a barrage on an area less accurately than artillery but with awesome psychological effect that could sap the will of a defender.
This SS Nebelwerfer team are shown readying their weapon; one paying out more cable, one fetching up new rockets and the third eager to press the fire trigger, fire each barrel and then move out to a new fire position before the fiery trails betray their position.

The 7.5 cm PaK 40 (7.5 cm Panzerabwehrkanone 40) was a German 7.5 centimetre anti-tank gun developed in 1939-1941 by Rheinmetall and used during the Second World War. PaK 40 formed the backbone of German anti-tank guns for the latter part of World War II. In this version, the gun is manned by Waffen-SS. Uncompromising and well-equipped, the soldiers of the Waffen-SS struck fear into the heart of many of their Allied opponents. Clad in their trademark camouflaged uniforms and displaying a tenacity and zeal bordering on the fanatical the Waffen-SS were a dangerous opponent in both attack and defense.

The Type 95 Ha-Go light tank was most numerous armoured fighting vehicle fielded by the Japanese during WWII. It also saw action versus the Soviet Union at Khalkhyn Gol in 1939 and during the Sino-Japanese war of 1937-45. It saw action in both Imperial Army and Special Naval Landing Force forces.
Designed as an infantry support tank to replace the slow Type 89 Yi-Go tank, the Ha-Go was capable to 28mph on road. Armed with 37mm main gun and two machine guns (one in the rear of the turret) the Ha-Go performed well during early stages of the war but increasingly struggled as it faced more powerful and better-armed Allied armour.
So numerous was the Ha-Go that is formed the basis of several conversions employed by the Imperial Japanese - from the Ka-Mi amphibious tank to the Ke-Nu utilising the Type 97 Chi-Ha turret.

This remarkable laser-cut replica of Pegasus Bridge, along with scenery representing other key features of the battle site such as the Café Gondrée, gun emplacement, machine gun posts and bunker are all included in this superb battle-set, allowing you to recreate the battle on the tabletop. Can your valiant glider troops take the bridge or will the Germans see you off before reinforcements arrive?
In the hours before the Allied invasion of Hitler's Europe was to begin at Normandy, a number of key points had to be neutralised lest the Allied troops are thrown back into the sea and to give the Allies the opportunity to disrupt German reinforcements heading towards the landing beaches.
One of these vital targets was the swing bridge over the canal at Bénouville.
In the early hours of 6th June 1944, the men of D Company, 2nd Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, led by Major John Howard, landed by glider - the first British troops to land on D-Day.
Their primary objective was to capture the two road bridges over the River Orne and the Caen Canal
The Bénouville bridge was guarded by machine gun posts, an anti-tank gun emplacement and a machine gun bunker, but the pinpoint glider assault caught the German defenders unprepared. After a vicious firefight, the highly-trained British soldiers captured the bridge and prepared defences for the inevitable German counter-attack, which they successfully repelled. The victorious British 6th Airborne Division could now protect the eastern flank of the Allied landings.
To recognise their bravery and sacrifice, the Caen Canal Bridge was renamed 'Pegasus Bridge' by the local population, inspired by the distinctive divisional badge of the 6th Airborne Division.

Key to the campaign waged in the Western Desert was mobility in order to cross the vast sandy deserts. As a result both sides relied heavily on tanks and transports. Amongst these were the BMW 75 and Zundapp motorcycles utilised by the Deutsche Afrika Korps and adding extra speed and manoeuvrability to your Afrika Korps force.
The riders are separate from the motorcycle so you can easily mix and match as you prefer. For instance, you could add the pillion rider to the back of the Motorcycle and sidecar combination. These models also utilise our Figure Head system so you have choose which heads to build them with as well as having freedom of positioning.

Veterans are formed from the ferocity of war - these battle-hardened men are always ready to lay their lives for Mother Russia. Given the finest gear the land can offer, these veterans took the fight to the front to protect their homeland from the invaders.
If the Soviet army was not on the whole an elite fighting force, it certainly included its fair share of battle-hardened veterans. It was not uncommon for squads of hand-picked, decorated men to be assigned to particularly important objectives or critical areas where their greater experience would have the most impact.
These solid infantry will form a very themed backbone for your force. Being equiped either with a submachine gun or use their normal rifle, you can create multiple squads for all scenarios.

The 37 mm Gun M3 was the first dedicated anti-tank gun fielded by United States forces. Introduced in 1940, it became their standard with its size enabling it to be pulled by a jeep. However, the continuing improvement of German tanks quickly rendered the 37 mm ineffective, and by 1943 it was being gradually replaced in the European and Mediterranean theatres by the more powerful British-developed 57 mm Gun M1.
In the Pacific, where the Japanese tank threat was less significant, the M3 remained in service until the end of the war. Like many other light anti-tank guns, the M3 was widely used in the infantry support role and as an anti-personnel weapon, firing high-explosive and canister rounds.
The M3 saw action for the first time during the defence of the Philippines in December 1941. It went on to become a factor in the Guadalcanal Campaign, where it was successfully employed against both Japanese armour and infantry.
Throughout the war it remained effective against Japanese vehicles, which were thinly armoured and were rarely committed in large groups. The light weight of the gun made it easy to move through difficult terrain, against enemy fortifications the M3 was only somewhat effective because of its small high-explosive projectile.
Its overall effectiveness and ease of use meant the gun remained in service with the Marine Corps and with some Army units in the Pacific until the end of the war.

The 6pdr was one of the most widely used Allied anti-tank guns during the Second World War. British gun crews would camouflage their weapons, hiding them in wooded areas and obscuring them with hedgerows in order to take enemy vehicles by surprise - shooting at the weaker-armoured side or rear armour in order to have the best chance of destroying enemy tanks.
This Blister contains one metal gun with crew. These models are supplied unpainted, and assembly may also be required.

During the dark days of 1940, Britain was under dire threat of Nazi invasion. A massive citizen army, the Local Defence Volunteers, was raised to defend their families and homes. Although armed with old or ad hoc weapons and equipment the Home Guard, as it became known, was a vital part of the defence of British shores. Based on these proud defenders of the realm, the classic TV series, Dad's Army produced some of television's most enduring catchphrases and characters as it followed the adventures of Walmington-on-Sea's Home Guard platoon.
